GDPR

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, the EU-wide data privacy law.

The General Data Protection Regulation is the European Union's data privacy law, in force since May 2018. It applies to any organisation that processes personal data of people in the EU, regardless of where the organisation is based. GDPR requires lawful basis for processing, clear consent mechanisms, data subject rights, and strong security measures. SmartChat's POPIA-compliant architecture is also GDPR-compatible for European customers.
