Privacy policy

We take privacy seriously. Here is what we do with your data and your customers' data, in plain language.

What we collect

• Account details: name, email, business name.
• Conversation data: messages exchanged through SmartChat, needed to deliver the service.
• Technical logs: for security and debugging.

Where we keep it

On Google Cloud in the Johannesburg region. Data stays on South African soil, including for European customers, unless we explicitly agree otherwise.

What we do not do with it

We do not use your account data to train public AI models. We do not sell your data. We do not share with advertisers.

Your rights

Under POPIA and GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Write to privacy@ruka.africa.

Retention

Conversation data is kept while your account is active. After cancellation we delete within 90 days, unless we are legally required to keep it longer.
